Bricklayers & Masons’ Local Union No. 5 Ohio, Pension Plan Summary of Material Modifications After February 29, 2012 the following death benefits will be eliminated from the Bricklayers & Masons’ Local Union No. 5 Ohio, Pension Plan: The lump sum death benefit of the employer contributions made on behalf of Members for hours worked on or after March 1, 2012, for a terminated member who is not vested. The lump sum death benefit of the employer contributions made on behalf of Members for hours worked on and after March 1, 2012 to a Member’s surviving spouse who is entitled to a preretirement spouse’s death benefit. Fozio Training Center in Hudson beginning on March 3, 2012. The cost of the class is $145.00. All sign-ups for the class must be completed before February 20th. A lot of our jobs require welding, and if you are qualified, you could possibly pick up some work. If you are interested in taking this class, call the training center for registration information at 330-463-5419. If not enough members sign up for the class it may be cancelled. Congratulations to Local 5 apprentice Brother Jeremy Casey who placed second in the Second Year Division last month at the Mason Contractors Association of America Skills Challenge in Las Vegas, Nevada.
