The Bricklayers Social Club Reverse Raffle and Dinner will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, 6:00 to Midnight at the Pipefitters Union Hall, 6305 Halle Drive in Valley View. Grand Prize is $3,000 dollars. There will be Music and Dancing. Tickets are now available at the price of $60.00 dollars per person.

MEMBERSHIP NEWS

 

The Members and Officers of  Local 5 would like to extend its deepest heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of Brother Wayne Hanzel, a 46 year member, Brother James Hamilton, a  member of our union for 59 years, 74 year member Brother Ross C. Gambino, and 76 year member Brother John F.Obratil, all of whom passed away recently.  

 

The best of get well wishes for a speedy recovery goes out to all of our members who are sick or injured. Due to privacy and confidentiality laws the names of ill or injured members will no longer be published unless the member gives Local 5 the authorization to by contacting our office.

 

Congratulations to Brother Paul J. McConnaughey, who receives his 50 year Life Member Gold Card Award this month. Congratulations to Brother William D. Gangle and Brother Louis R. Golic, both of whom receive their 40 year awards also this month. The Executive Board and members of Local 5 wish you the best of health and happiness, and thanks you for your many years of service and dedication to our union.

 

The Retiree’s Luncheon is Wednesday, May 12, at St. John’s Event Center, 4925 State Road, Cleveland (across from the Original Mattress Factory) at 11 a.m.

Local 5 takes Pre-Apprentice applications Monday mornings
8:30-10 a.m. at the hall. If you know someone interested in learning the skilled trowel trades, have them call Apprentice Coordinator Anthony McCullough at the OADC training center at 330-463-5501.
