To our members who do not have a current drug free card: We are receiving word from our contractors that they will not hire anyone that cannot produce a current card. If your card has lapsed, call Dave Wondolowski (216-780-8645) to make arrangements to be tested. As workers comp costs soar more and more, contractors will want a complete compliance to reduce their insurance costs.

Local 5 social events occur about the same time every year. Although we do not have the exact 2009 dates for you at this writing, we will give them to you as soon as we get them, so you can plan to attend them. There will be a reverse raffle in April or May, a family picnic in July, the Building Trades Softball Tournament , A.F.L.-C.I.O. Labor Day Parade and Picnic in September, the Retirees Luncheon in October, and the 2009 Christmas Party in December. There will also be a retirees’ bus trip to a casino (details to come) and we are also planning to attend a Cavaliers and / or Indians game in 2009.
