Brother Tom Nagy of the International Masonry Institute will be speaking at the Wednesday, February 17th meeting at 7p.m. to make you aware as to what IMI does for our industry and our union. He will be followed by OADC Apprentice Coordinator Brother Anthony McCullough who will speak about the Apprentice training program .
MEMBERSHIP NEWS
The Members and Officers of Local 5 would like to extend its deepest heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of Brother Andrew Gancs, a member of our union for 55 years, who died recently. In the January issue of the Citizen on page 3, there was an article titled "Past Officers Remembered" which mistakenly referred to our retired president and 63-year member Brother Donald C. Thiele who passed away last February 22nd as David C. Thiele. We sincerely apologize to Mr. Thiele's family and friends for this error. The best of get well wishes for a speedy recovery goes out to all of our members who are sick or injured. Due to privacy and confidentiality laws the names of ill or injured members will no longer be published unless the member gives Local 5 the authorization to by contacting our office. Congratulations to Brother John Paton, who receives his 50 year Life Member Gold Card Award this month. The Executive Board and members of Local 5 wish you the best of health and happiness, and thanks you for your many years of service and dedication to our union. The Retiree's Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, at St. John's Church in Parma at 11 a.m. More details will follow. Local
