January 2010

Once again we are in the grasp of a cold Northern Ohio Winter with many of our Sisters and Brothers out of work. Therefore, it would be a good time to add to or sharpen your skills and take some Jouneyperson Upgrade Classes at the Robert A. Fozio Regional Training Center in Hudson. Classes started on January 9th and will continue through April 13, 2010. For more information call 330-463-5501 or 1-800-442-0479.

Brother Tom Nagy of the International Masonry Institute will be speaking at the Wednesday, February 17th meeting at 7p.m. to make you aware as to what IMI does for our industry and our union. He will be followed by OADC Apprentice Coordinator Brother Anthony McCullough who will speak about the Apprentice training  program.

The annual Christmas Party Wednesday, December 16, was well attended. It was nice to see so many old and new friends getting together. Thanks to all of you who helped to make the night a successful one.

Due to the results of the vote to amend Article XIV, Section 1 of the Local 5 Constitution at the October 21, 2009 union meeting, beginning January 2010 the regular meetings of this local shall be held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
