The Family Picnic is Sunday, July 12 rain or shine at Swings-n-Things in Olmsted Falls. There are plenty of things to do outdoors and indoors there such as go carts , mini-golf, bumper boats, horseshoes, volleyball, corn hole, laser shoot-out, video games, batting cages and more. There will be door prizes. Tickets are $20.00 per person. Kids under 2 play and eat free. There is a Kid’s Korner indoor Play Area for “10 and unders” (socks required). The Members and Officers of Local 5 would like to wish a speedy recovery to good heath to Brother Bob Fozio who had surgery recently. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers, Bob.
Congratulations to Brother William E. Cowan who received his 50 year pin and gold card. Congratulations are also in order for Brothers John A. Baca, James W. Kocon, John Petralia and Richard D. Smith who will receive their 40 year awards. The Executive Board and the Members of Local 5 thank all of you for your many years of faithful service and wish you the best. Congratulations to apprentice Bryan Burkhart and his wife Carolyn on the birth of their first baby on May 16, 2009, a 7.2 pound girl named Kara Lynn. Congratulations from all the officers and members of Local 5 and the Ohio Administrative District Council. Social Club News The Golf Outing is August 1st at Mallard Creek. Tickets are $75 per person which includes golf, a cart, lunch, steak dinner, pop, beer and door prizes. Hole sponsorship is available for only fifty dollars. The Cleveland Indians defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in an inter-league game at Progressive Field on Friday, June 12, and we were there! It was a nice family outing and the Social Club would like to thank all of you who bought tickets and attended. THE Bricklayers Local 5 Softball team (8-1) is on a roll! See them play at Brookside Park on Sunday July 12th at 10:a.m. and Sunday July19th at 2:30 p.m. Sunday July 26th is either a RAIN DATE or the START OF THE PLAYOFFS.
