March, 2006 SPECIAL
CALLED MEETING
Just as the month of January was one of the mildest winters we have had in a long time. February has been just as mild. A good number of our members were able to make some time to break up the long winter. From the last issue of the Citizen, I have received a number of changes to their beneficiary, also updated address changes. Its mindful to keep your records updated. At the February Bricklayers Benevolent Association meeting, Brother Tom Cowan was appointed as the Treasurer to replace retired Bud Jones. Brothers Robert (Bob) Fozio, Justin Gorczyca, Steve Hanlon, and Al Azolino are the Trustees. Brothers Rick Shelly, Dave Drabroski and Anthony McCullough are Board members with Mike Goldback as the President. Members with questions about the Benevolent Insurance policy can call the Union office, 216-361-1652. This February we lost two 40-year members, Brothers Ralph R. Metzger and James J. Novak. We also lost three 50-year Fifty-Year Gold Card Members, Brothers Franklin Harwell, Frank Ropos and Frank Romano Jr. Brother Achille Romanin who was a member of our International Terrazzo and Tile Union when they were merged into Local 5 in 1989 had 58-years of service to our International. Brother Frank Geisler lost his mother, Julianna, and Brother Randy Dreamer lost his beloved father. Also, Brother Larry Pinto lost his father-in-law, Carmen. The Executive Board and all the Members of Local 5 wish to extend our most heartfelt sympathies to these members family and friends. SERVICE AWARDS
For the month of March we have two members who have reached 40-years service, Brothers Richard Calabersa and Stephen Pawuk II. Brother Joseph G. Gullory became a 50-year Life Gold card member. From the Executive Board and all the members we wish to thank you for these many years of service.
