March 2009 Brother Robert Fozio, Director of the Ohio Administrative Council of Bricklayers has retired. The Executive Board and Members of your home local #5, Congratulations to Brother Ken Kudela who has been appointed to be the new O.A.D.C. Director. Brothers and Sisters, we must stand united behind Ken and give him all of our support, as he has for us without hesitation on countless occasions. Best of luck to you, Brother Ken.
There will be a special called meeting of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers on the allocation of the May increase.

Congratulations to Brother John Graham and his wife, Angie, on the birth of their baby girl, Samantha. “A tip of the hardhat” goes out to Brother David Buccieri for his donation of hundreds of hours of work on the Italian Cultural Garden Restoration project. Ms. Joyce Mariani, Executive Director of the project noted that “David is not only a skilled masonry craftsman, he is also an architectural scholar of the garden, spending hours doing research to ensure the authenticity of his work. We are proud that you’re a member of our club, David!” We are proud that you are a member of Local 5, David! There are three 40 year service awards this month. Brothers John Bayer Jr., Josef Karas, and Joseph R. Smoley all received pins. From the Executive Board and the Members of Local 5, congratulations and thank you for your many years of faithful service.
The Members and Officers of Local 5 would like to extend our sympathies to the families and friends of Brothers Arthur J. Johnson, Donald C. Thiele, Samuel Gadson, Joseph C. Ramunni, and Karl Tiefenthaeler all of whom passed away recently.
