Bricklayers Retiree Gaming Trip

The Bricklayers Retiree Club will be hosting a bus trip to the Seneca Allegany Casino in New York on October 29th. Cost is $27 dollars per person. You will receive $20 per person in a gaming voucher and refreshments on the bus trip. This trip will have a pick up on the West side at West 130th and Brookpark and a second pick up at on the East side at Wilson Mills and I-271 in Mayfield Village. This will sell out fast, so buy your ticket soon. Tickets are being sold in advance. You can call Gene Summa at (440) 915-0646 or Tom Cowan (216) 361-1652 to buy tickets.

SERVICE AWARDS

For the month of October we have Brother Thomas O. Angus become a 40-year member. Brother Richard Huckabee became a 50-year Gold Card Life Member.  From the membership and the Executive Board, we thank you for all your many years of service to our Union.


 

SAFETY TRAINING

There are no classes scheduled as of this date.

NOTE: You must pre-register for the classes available. To register you must submit a check to the NOADC of BAC in the amount of $20.00. The check will be refunded to you for attending the class. This helps us to curb abuse of the safety training available yet results in no actual cost of training to those who attend

All classes will be held at the NOADC Training Center, 5171 Hudson Drive, Hudson Ohio 44236

SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

The weather was beautiful for the Softball Tournament this year. Along with the rest of the membership I would like to thank all our members that participated on the team and to Mark Siders for being the manager.

                                                                       APPRENTICE APPLICATIONS

Local 5 is currently taking applications for the apprenticeship program Thursday and Fridays from 8am till 11:30am at the Union Hall 4205 Chester Avenue Cleveland Ohio 44103. If you know of interested people who are thinking of pursuing a career in the trowel trades have them contact Local 5 at (216) 361-1652 or Anthony McCullough Apprentice Coordinator of the Regional Training Center for NOADC. 5171 Hudson Drive Hudson Ohio 44236, (330)-463-5419.

Membership News

On October 17th at our regular meeting, Michael McKinney, a representive with United American Insurance Company, will discuss buying insurance after retirement.

UNION MEETINGS are the first and third Wednesdays of the month at the Bricklayers Hall at 8pm.
